But what is Matter, and why is it good for you?
Matter is a brand-new, global smart home standard created jointly by the market’s biggest players (such as Apple, Google, Amazon and Samsung). The aim is simple: to provide a universal language for devices so that they can communicate seamlessly with one another, regardless of the manufacturer. If a device is Matter-compatible, it’s guaranteed to work with your favourite system.
What does this mean for owners of the Becker CC41?
The CC41 has always been an extremely versatile smart home hub which handled Centronic and CentronicPLUS radio-controlled products (roller shutters, awnings, lighting) exceptionally well. However, with the Matter update, devices programmed into the control centre (with a few exceptions) now appear immediately in the global systems as well.
This means that from now on, you can control your existing Becker devices directly from the following platforms:

- Home Assistant
- Eve
