It matters on which channel our consumers integrated into the intelligent system communicate and where the various programmes, events, information and usage patterns we teach them are stored and displayed on which interface.
Is a radio or Wi-Fi system more trustworthy?
For BECKER, data storage and protection is not the least of our concerns. The system has been designed to prevent access to the house data, functions and programs by unauthorised persons. All such data is stored on a separate card in the central unit of the house. Even though the control panel is connected to the Internet, free updates, remote access and access to certain extra functions make the data inaccessible to third parties. The consumers of the system communicate with each other by radio signal.
Isn't constant radio radiation dangerous to your health? - the question arises.
Constant emission, yes, but BECKER products only emit a radio signal when one device is sending a command to another.
For example, if a sensor sends a signal to a connected controller, it will do so in a pulse, in a fraction of a second. And if the control unit or tube motor gives feedback, it is done in a similar way. So there is no constant signal output.
Another advantage of the radio system over the Wi-Fi system is that the communication link between the products in the system is also much more stable. Not to mention the fact that BECKER's system is designed in such a way that the products comply with KNX international standards.
So products from other manufacturers, tested by BECKER-Antriebe GmbH, are also compatible with the smart home system. A list of these products is available on this website. It is worth knowing that BECKER does not manufacture alarms and cameras, so the use of the tested products is recommended but not exclusive. In many cases, products from other brands can also be used with the BECKER system.
Security solutions with the BECKER smart home.
- Two functions are available for the alarm system.
- We have the possibility of an ON/OFF on/off switch. If you forget to activate the alarm, you can go to the control panel and easily activate it, but you can also deactivate it if you are not at home and want to let someone in.
- The other option is a scene control, which means that in the event of an alarm, the alarm sends a command to the smart system to trigger the consumers we want. For example, the shutters should go to the lower position and all the lights in the house/garden should come on. This prevents a possible break-in.
- For the camera system, both outdoor and indoor cameras can be integrated for smart control. This allows you to see what is happening at home from anywhere at any time.
